ACWA Power announced the commercial start-up of the 2.06 GW Shuaiba 2 solar power plant, achieving full production capacity. The plant, located in Makkah, is part of a two-station project, a partnership between Saudi Aramco, Badil, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, and ACWA Power, a renewable energy and water desalination company. The project aims to establish the largest solar photovoltaic power plant in Saudi Arabia, with a total value of approximately 8.3 billion riyals ($2.2 billion).
