WalMart INC that operates a chain of hypermakets ended a collaboration with a robotics company, preferring to assign workers the same work that machines previously did.

The Wall Street Journal quoted related sources as saying that the retailer had terminated the contract with the Bossa Nova robotics company, with finding simple and cost-effective ways to manage the products offered for sale in stores with the help of their workers instead of robots.

The newspaper reported that CEO John Forner was also concerned about shoppers’ reaction to the presence of robots in stores.
