Epic Games, the creator of the famous video game Fortnite, announced a plan through which it intends to dismiss a number of its employees in order to reduce its expenses, while it will continue to spend money on its legal battle against Apple and Google.

Epic Games will hire about 830 people, or 16% of its employees, according to an email sent by CEO Tim Sweeney to employees, and published on the company’s website.

“We have been spending much more money than we are making, investing in the development of the company and Fortnite as a metaverse-inspired system,” Sweeney said in the letter.
